Helen Downie AKA Unskilled Worker

Helen Downie is a London based artist working under the moniker of Unskilled Worker. Her paintings are both intimate and evocative, mixing characters and nature with the ephemeral and fantastical. Downie’s work has been described as ‘a melee of ethereality, innocence, inherent flow and instinct that all came together in a spectacular fashion.’

As I was painting my lion, I thought of the need to remember that the natural world isn’t a separate entity: we are of the natural world, and by destroying it, we are destroying ourselves.
